Religion Khan Sir

Khan Sir, whose real name is said to be Faisal Khan, is among India’s most popular educators. Based in Patna, Bihar, he runs a coaching institute that supports thousands of students in their preparation for Indian competitive exams. Born in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, he is also a YouTuber and has built a very large audience thanks to a teaching style that is accessible, direct, and committed. A graduate of the University of Allahabad, Khan Sir has established himself as a major figure in popular education in India. But while his reputation as a teacher is well established, his personal life, especially his religion, remains deliberately unclear.

A deliberately interreligious stance: “I am Hindustani”

On the subject of religion, Khan Sir has always avoided being reduced to a single label. In interviews, he has clearly refused to define himself as Hindu or Muslim, preferring to present himself as “Hindustani,” meaning simply Indian. This position appears to be deliberate: Khan Sir has said he recites verses from both the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita, and says he celebrates both Eid and Raksha Bandhan. Photos of him wearing outfits associated with these two festivals have circulated on social media; he himself explained that they were taken during the respective celebrations.

In a YouTube video, he also stated that he respects all religions and that his commitment is toward unity rather than division. In June 2025, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan visited his coaching institute in Patna. This episode also fueled speculation, without however constituting proof of his personal faith. His marriage also sparked comments: his wife appeared veiled at their reception, which Khan Sir explained as a personal wish she had had since childhood.

We can therefore see that there is no statement from him; nevertheless, everything he does seems to show a strong connection with the Muslim religion.

Persistent rumors, but no official confirmation

Several secondary biographical websites present Khan Sir as Muslim. However, none of these sites relies on a direct, public, and verifiable statement from the person concerned. They therefore cannot be considered reliable primary sources on this specific question.

However, it can be seen that in the majority of his actions, he mainly carries out actions related to Islam.
